How to make it
|
1. Direction
Make pound cake:
1. Preheat oven to 325°.
2. Butter a 9"-by-5"-inch loaf pan.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, salt, and 4. baking powder.
4. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until very pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.
5. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition.
6. Add half the flour mixture, beat until just combined. Add sour cream and remaining flour mixture, beat until just combined.
7. Stir in ½ of the chocolate chips, the peanut butter chips, potato chips, and pretzels.
8. Scrape batter into prepared pan and smooth top with a spatula.
9. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and top is golden, about 70 to 80 minutes.
10. Let cool completely.
Make chocolate topping:
1. In a medium microwave safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream.
2. Microwave until melted.
3. Stir to combine.
4. Drizzle on top of pound cake and sprinkle cake with more oats, peanut butter chips, potato chips, and mini pretzels.
5. Let set in refrigerator, about 20 minutes, before slicing.
|
Direction
1. Brew the coffee and let it cool before use.
2. Add the butter, sugar, rolled oats, cocoa powder, and vanilla powder into the bowl.
3. Check the coffee to make sure it's not hot, and then pour 2 tablespoons (29.6 ml) of it into the bowl.
4. Use your hands to knead the bowl's contents into a dough-like mixture. There should not be any clumps of butter when you're done.
5. Take a piece of the dough and roll it until it turns to a ball. Continue with the rest of the dough and make sure they're the same size. If you like, you may try making different shapes with them!
6. Roll the balls in coconut powder, confectioners sugar/pearl sugar or oats (or be creative and use something else).
7. Put the balls in the fridge for a few hours or until they're hard. But that's not necessary if you like them soft and warm. Try them both ways, and pick your favorite!
8. Eat all you want of your new delicious chocolate balls!
| |
2. Directions
1. Add the water, dried anchovies, and dried kelp to a shallow pot or pan.
2. Boil for 15 minutes over medium high heat without the lid.
3. Combine hot pepper paste, hot pepper flakes, and sugar in a small bowl. Remove the anchovies and kelp from the pot and add the rice cake, the mixture in the bowl, the green onion, and the optional fish cakes and hard boiled eggs. The stock will be about 2 ½ cups.
4. Stir gently with a wooden spoon when it starts to boil. Keep stirring until the rice cake turns soft and the sauce thickens and looks shiny, which should take about 10 -15 minutes. If the rice cake is not soft enough, add more water and continue stirring until soften. When you use freshly made rice cake, it takes shorter time. If you use frozen rice cake, thaw it out and soak in cold water to soften it before cooking.
5. Remove from the heat and serve hot.
| |
Direction
a. In a medium bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, sugar and baking powder. Stir in eggs and milk.
b. Preheat oil in a deep saucepan over medium heat. Insert wooden skewers into frankfurters. Roll frankfurters in batter until well coated.
c. Fry 2 or 3 corn dogs at a time until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
| |
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
2. Divide between 2 cups and top with blackberries, if desired.

Materials:
1. Sock with a thick cuff
2. Scissor
3. Yarn
4. Needle
5. Patches or pin
| |
How to make it
|
STEPS:
1. Wash out your plastic bottle with regular tap water. There's no set limit to how big or small your piggy bank should be, but you should aim for a plastic bottle that's between 500–1,000 millilitres (17–34 fl oz). Wash it out with water and let it sit for 10 minutes so it can dry.
2. Keep the bottle cap on the bottle. It will serve as the pig’s snout
3. cut out a 1 inch (2.5 cm)-long coin slot with a box cutter. Have an adult slice a coin slot into the middle of 1 of the long sides of the bottle. Make the coin slot a little bigger than the biggest coin you plan on putting in the piggy bank. The coin slot will need to be at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) long to fit a standard US quarter.
4. Attach the legs to the side of the bottle opposite the coin slot. Cut out 4 egg-holders from the carton using scissors. Then, have an adult use a low-heat hot glue gun to attach them to the bottle by applying the glue around the edges of the egg-holders. Finally, paste the legs on the side opposite the coin slot.
5. Decorate your pig with the remaining materials. Now that you’ve got a basic pig shape, it’s time to get artistic with your creation! Make a tail by twisting a pink pipe cleaner into a spiral. Draw nostrils onto the pig’s snout with a black marker. Cut 2 triangles out of pink paper or felt and glue them on as ears. You can give the pig eyes by hot gluing googly eyes onto its face, or by drawing, cutting out, and gluing on eyes yourself.
|
STEPS:
1. Cut a piece of cardboard or construction paper into a rectangle. This will be the size of the frame. Depending on how wide you want it to be, make it a few inches bigger than the picture on each side
2. Cut a rectangle out of the middle of the cardboard. The rectangle’s size should be slightly smaller than the photo.
3. Paint the frame. Paint it all one color, or paint patterns and figures on the frame. You can also use markers, crayons, pens, or colored pencils to decorate the frame
4. Glue on paper decorations. Cut shapes out of paper stars, hearts, animals, letters, or symbols are just some ideas and glue them onto the frame.
5. Get creative with your decorations. Use cloth, buttons, beads, glitter, stickers, or anything else you can think of. Glue these decorations onto the frame in whatever patterns you like.
6. Make the back of the frame. Cut a rectangle out of another piece of paper. This rectangle should be slightly smaller than the whole frame, so that it easily covers the center of the frame
7. Glue this new rectangle to the back of the frame. Attach it firmly and smoothly on three sides, but make sure to leave one side open so that you can slide the picture in
| |
STEPS:
1. LOOP THE HEMP CORD THROUGH THE KEY CHAIN
First, cut a piece of the hemp cord about 12-inches long and loop it through the bottom ring of the clasp. Tuck the ends through the loop and pull until tight.
2. THREAD THE BEADS
Thread your beads through the hemp cord as you’d like them. The more beads you use, the longer the key chain will be. I used anywhere from 3-5 beads on my key chains.
3. LAYER THE EMBROIDERY THREAD
Next, take your embroidery thread and slide the wrappers off. They’re already wrapped in a 6-inch loop so just layer your colors on top of each other and tie the ends of the hemp cord tightly around the center of the threads. Trim the leftover hemp cord.
4. TIE THE HEMP CORD AROUND THE THREAD
Then, fold the two ends of the embroidery thread down and tie another piece of hemp cord down around the folded thread – about 1/2″ down. Tie 2 knots and trim off any excess hemp cord. This gives a nice circle shape at the top of the thread and just under the beads.
5. COVER THE HEMP CORD WITH METALLIC STRING
Tie a piece of your metallic string around the white hemp cord and then continue to wrap it tightly around the hemp cord until you cover it completely. I tied the end of my metallic stringing to one of the strands from the first knot. Trim off any excess stringing.
6. TRIM THE EMBROIDERY THREAD
Arrange the bottom of the tassel and cut the folded ends with sharp scissors. Give the ends of your tassel a little trim so the ends are even.
7. Added a personalized charm to one of my tassels by attaching it right onto the key ring.
| |
STEPS:
1. Draw the desired shape of your brooch on a piece of felt. Use felt that matched your items to make it less visible, or use a basic background color, such as black or grey. You can draw a square, circle, oval, rectangle, triangle, star, horseshoe, or any other shape you like for your brooch. Try to make the shape about 1.5 in (3.8 cm) across.
2. Cut out the felt piece with a pair of fabric scissors. After you have traced the shape onto your felt, cut along the lines. Cut slowly to ensure that you do not create any misshapen or jagged edges
3. Lay out the items you want on your brooch. You can glue beads, crystals, rhinestones, buttons, and other items onto your brooch to decorate it. Use enough items so that they will completely cover the felt, and then position the items on your felt piece how you want to attach them before gluing them into place. This will allow you to play with the positioning of the items and get the desired look
4. Use a hot glue gun to attach the items to your brooch. Turn on your hot glue gun and allow it about 10 to 15 minutes to warm up. Once you are happy with the arrangement of your items, begin gluing them into place. Pick up a piece, apply a small dot of glue and press the piece onto it. Continue to do this until you have attached all of your items.
5. Turn the brooch over and glue a brooch pin onto the back. When you have finished attaching the items to the front of your brooch and the glue has dried, turn it over. Then, apply a couple of dots of hot glue to the center of the brooch back and press a brooch pin closure onto the glue. Hold the pin in place for a few seconds to ensure a good bond.
| |
STEPS:
1. Find or buy a sock with a thick cuff. The cuff will become the wristband after a little work, so make sure you like the color and material. Thicker cuffs will make for more durable wristbands, generally speaking.
2. Cut the cuff off the sock. Try to cut the sock as close to the cuff as possible. It is better to err on the side of cutting below the cuff, as you will be hemming the cuff in the next step.
3. Turn the ends of the cuff over about ¼ inch and sew them them back onto the cuff to form a hem. Sew all the way around the circumference of the sock to finish the hem. Choose a thread color that you like, or thread that is the same color as the sock cuff.
- To quickly hem the wristband, stick the needle through the fabric and immediately back up through, just above the fold. Now pull the needle all the way through. Then continue stitching up through the fold, pulling the needle through, connecting the fold with the rest of the fabric. Move along the seam and repeat the process until you have sewn all the way around the circumference. When finished, you’ve created a basic hem.
- Hemming the wristband will prevent the fabric from unraveling.
- Make sure that you do not sew all the way through the cuff. If you do, you will sew both sides together. In that case you will have to cut the thread out with scissors and begin again.
4. Decorate the wristband. You can sew patches on to the wristband. Smalls pins and pin-back buttons also make good decorations for this kind of wristband.
- Make sure that all pins are secured and that the points are not exposed. They pose a risk for cutting yourself when you put your hand through the wristband.
